Sara Williams

Leader of Cultural Development and Kids on Stage

As leader of Cultural Development, Sara is accountable for leading SSC’s Human Resource System, which includes recruiting, selecting, orientating, training and developing, and retaining our people. Sara works with each functional leader to ensure we are all executing our HR system, abiding by our principals and philosophy of holding quality periodic reviews with all our people, aggressively training and developing our accountable people, ensuring roles are real and meaningful to those in them, and becoming the preferred place to work in our region.

In addition, Sara is accountable for leading SSC’s Communication System, which details what and how we communicate with our customers, our employees, our suppliers and vendors, and our community.

Sara also leads the leadership of Kids On Stage Foundation of Maury County, Tennessee, Inc, by working with the leadership team of Mt. Pleasant Middle School of the Visual and Performing Arts in developing and leading implementation of a plan to fulfill our vision of achieving excellence in measurable results through meaningful integration of the arts for students, parents, team members and community. As KOS Director, the position for which she joined SSC in 2006, Sara implemented an annual budget process, facilitated annual initiatives for Kids On Stage Board of Directors, and provided leadership training for team members at MPMSVPA. She developed, with MPMSVPA principal a New Beginning that was rolled out January 2010, which was a self-initiated “restart” focusing on three differentiated aspects of the school: a human resource system, an arts integrated instructional program, and effective use of the unique facility.

Since joining SSC, Sara has participated in corporate initiatives as well as led a leadership incubator team. She joined the Leadership Team via her current role in 2010. Prior, Sara spent six years with Columbia State Community College as Coordinator of Noncredit Services planning community classes and events, as well as managing and administering the annual Performance Series. Sara started her career as a Paralegal with Liberty National Life Insurance Company in Birmingham, Alabama.

A native and resident of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Sara earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources from Birmingham-Southern College in 1996.
